| The "Monument of Glory" is the Center of "Slawy Square"......in Samara, overlooking the Volga River. It is dedicated to the kybysian workers of the aircraft industry. The monument is one of the most famous symbols of Samara. The Moscow sculptors Pavel Bondarenko, Oleg Kiryuhin and the architect A. Samsonov designed the thirteen (13) -meter high-alloy steel figure with wings above its head and a forty-foot (40-meter) pedestal. The pedestal symbolizes a ray of light rising into the sky.
